Eczema Clothing FAQs
How do I choose the correct size?
Accurate measurement is essential. Measure your child in centimetres from the top of their head to their heel.
The fit should allow unhindered movement and be fairly close fitting without being tight. If the garment is too loose, the fabric will move over the skin during movement and any rough areas of eczema will catch on the fabric and cause discomfort. Wearing clothing that is too big creates folds in the fabric that then make some areas hotter (and itchier) than others as well as being uncomfortable to sit or lie on. Beware of skin on skin contact within the garment, especially under the arms if the raglan is loose or between the legs if the gusset is too low.
This clothing is quite generous in size and will fit up to approx 10cm larger than its size. So, for example, a size 90cm garment will fit up to approx 100cm, so it is better to go for a size 90 if the child measures close to that size.

Does the Eczema Clothing shrink in the wash?
Only the finest long fibre cotton has been used in this clothing which does not shrink, even when boiled. Tumble dry cool only - a hot dryer will reduce the size of the garment, however because of the quality of the cotton used, you can regain the original size by rewashing and reshaping whilst damp.
How should I care for my Eczema Clothing?
If you are using the medications/oils/creams associated with the treatment of eczema, it is recommended that you wash your nightwear after each wearing, inside out and at the hottest setting on your washing machine to avoid a build up of creams and allergens that could weaken the fabric causing an uncomfortable bitty appearance, destroy any elastic and shorten the life of the garment. Do not use fabric conditioner - as well as a risk of an allergic reaction, fabric conditioners coat the cotton fibres, reducing the level of breathability and absorbancy.
What is Natural Silver Soothe and how does it work?
Natural silver ions have been added throughout the fabric to relieve itching at night time, making this Eczema Clothing totally unique. The silver ions work on the surface of the skin only, acting as a natural antibacterial, controlling bacteria overgrowth and preventing the spread of organisms and the risk of secondary infection.
The silver is fixed into the material for the lifetime of the garment. It does not cross the skin barrier into the bloodstream. Nor does it leak into the environment through the water supply, even when boil washed.
Will my child be too hot in your eczema nightwear?
Children with eczema need to be kept as cool as possible - extra heat produces extra itching. Our eczema nightwear is of a mid weight cotton - any lighter and the child would be able to cause damage from scratching and any heavier would be too warm. We do not recommend the use of duvets with our nightwear as the child will be too hot. It is usually sufficient to cover the child with a cotton sheet and maybe a light cotton blanket.

What if somebody ingests one of your eco cleaning or eco laundry products?
If any eco cleaning or laundry product is ingested, we would suggest that the victim drink lots of water to flush out the substance and seek medical attention immediately, bringing the bottle/container with them for reference.
